Mr. Max Miller

Max is a retired attorney.  He spent his entire legal career as an associate and partner in the tax department of the Chicago Office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, an international law firm.  While at Skadden, Max's practice focused primarily on the tax aspects of transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt and equity offerings, as well as representing clients in tax controversies and rendering general tax advice.  He holds B.A. and M.P.A. (Masters of Public Administration) degrees from Drake University and a J.D. degree from Yale Law School.  Prior to attending law school, he was an assistant to the Governor of Iowa and worked on education, health, transportation, and natural resources issues.

Max and his wife Kathi split their time between Naperville and Hilton Head Island, SC.  They are members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville and are the parents of three St. Francis alumni--Max ('08), Ian ('10), and Jake ('13), all of whom live in Chicago.

Max is a frequent volunteer for Feed My Starving Children in Aurora, a middling tennis and pickleball player, and a horrendous (but enthusiastic) golfer
