Mary is the Executive Director, and senior non-lawyer professional, of Banner Witcoff, an intellectual property law firm that is dedicated to providing premier intellectual property services to clients of all sizes and across all sectors. She is responsible for the operations of the Firm’s offices, including personnel, administrative policies and procedures, insurance, benefits, facilities management, information systems, and marketing. She started at Banner Witcoff in 2000 as the firm’s Office Administrator and transitioned into the role of Executive Director in 2010.
Prior to joining Banner Witcoff, she worked in the legal industry as a Human Resources and Facilities Manager, and she began her career with Waste Management in Oak Brook, Illinois, where she held a variety of positions, including internal audit, compliance, government affairs and legal services over a period of 11 years. Mary also served on the Board of Directors for the Naperville Cemetery for 10-plus years.
Mary became a member of the St. Francis High School Board of Directors Education Committee in 2023 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2024. She currently serves on the Board’s Advancement Committee.
Mary is a Naperville native and lives there with her husband, Rick Westra. She attended Sts. Peter & Paul School from grade one through eight, graduated from St. Francis High School (83) and went on to Illinois Benedictine College (now Benedictine University) graduating with a BS degree in accounting (87). Mary and Rick are members of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish.
