Class of 2029 Application

Class of 2029 Entrance Exam Registration & Application Process

In order to assess a student’s potential for success in the curricular and co-curricular educational programs, the application process includes four parts:

  • Online application
  • High School Placement Test (HSPT)
  • 7th grade report card
  • Teacher recommendations
  • IEP/504, if applicable

Online Application

Step 1: Complete your pre-application Inquiry Form to create a mySFHS account.

Step 2: Once the SFHS IT Department processes your inquiry, you will receive an invitation from our portal provider (Blackbaud) to finish setting up your account. Please accept the invitation to access the mySFHS Portal.

Step 3: Complete your application (including $35 application fee) to SFHS through the mySFHS Portal. The Online Application includes extracurricular interests and demographic information.

The High School Placement Test (HSPT)

SFHS requires the HSPT entrance exam as part of the application process for all 8th grade applicants.

Students who have previously taken the HSPT at another Catholic high school in fall 2024, are welcomed to apply to SFHS. These students should upload their HSPT score report, along with all other required materials, to their mySFHS account.

If your child has not taken the HSPT test, please contact the Admissions Office at 630-668-5800 or admissions@sfhscollegeprep.org. Our next available testing date is Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. at St. Francis High School.

Only students who take the HSPT at St. Francis High School on the original test date or an official make-up date plus complete all other components of the application are eligible for SFHS scholarships.

Report Card

SFHS requires students submit a copy of their 7th grade report card. The report card must be uploaded to your mySFHS portal.

Teacher Recommendations

The recommendation form is sent and received school-to-school. Applicants do not need to submit any recommendation forms and/or letters.

Candidates should have positive recommendations that show diligence, responsibility, curiosity, attendance, and respect in and out of the classroom.

IEP/504, if applicable

SFHS can support students who need limited accommodations to be successful in a college preparatory high school. Students with diagnosed learning differences have been successful in all academic levels offered at SFHS.

SFHS offers extended time as an accommodation on the HSPT. To be eligible for accommodations, a student must have been identified as having a need and have a formal written plan (IEP, ISP, 504 Plan, or Accommodation Plan) at his/her grade school. Documentation must be submitted electronically to the mySFHS portal for consideration of accommodations for the Entrance Exam by November 30, 2023.

Affordability

The tuition assistance application will be available late-October 2024 and is due March 3, 2025. To be considered for tuition assistance, a student must be registered as an SFHS student. To be considered for SFHS scholarships, a student must take the Entrance Exam at St. Francis High School. Please visit our Tuition Assistance page for more information.
