Remembering SFHS Teacher Tim Reist

Jamie Lavigueur
Tim Reist, recently retired social studies teacher at St. Francis High School, passed away on Monday, August 19. Tim was a member of the SFHS community for 21 years and impacted countless students with his dynamic teaching style, positive attitude, and faith.

“Tim was truly one of kind,” said Principal Raeann Huhn. “We thank him for never giving up on our students, for his compassion, for opening minds, and for helping to shape the future.”

Throughout his tenure, he also moderated Ping Pong Club, Risk Club, and Bowling Club, and coached soccer.

Tim was diagnosed with cancer in January 2023 but continued to teach during the 2023-24 school year, retiring at the end of the year.

In a message to faculty and staff, he wrote: “It has been my honor to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the students of St. Francis High School. I have said all along that I am buoyed up by the prayers of the faithful and I know that God has answered those prayers in many ways. May God bless each and every one of you in the coming days and years, and grant you, as He has me, the faith, courage, and strength to face any challenge that you may face.”
