Prom Pact was released to Disney+ on March 31st. The film follows two characters, Mandy Yang (played by Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and Ben Plunkett (played by Milo Manheim).
Mandy and Ben are best friends, which is made known very quickly to audience members. One thing both these characters share is their distaste for high school parties, football games, and dances. Mandy does not participate in these things because she is spending her entire high school career trying to get into Harvard. Ben follows what Mandy does, and instead of attending parties and football games, they just go hang out with each other. Things turn sour for Mandy when she discovers that she has been waitlisted at Harvard. She decides that the only way for her to get into Harvard is with a letter of recommendation. It is also decided that the letter needs to come from the dad of Graham Lansing, the star basketball player. The problem with this is that she does not talk to Graham or even really know him. She's able to get to know him once she offers him tutoring. This starts a budding romance between the two characters. This film is filled with betrayal, love, and unexpected twists. It takes place during prom season, which is a big part of the movie. During the film, you see prom-posals in the background, and it’s the big event within the movie.
Overall, I thought that this movie was fun and enjoyable. I thought there were some parts in it that were hard to watch because they were cringy or embarrassing, but I enjoyed it for the most part. All in all, I recommend watching Prom Pact on Disney+.
