Mariola H. Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
Jamie Lavigueur
St. Francis High School is proud to announce Mariola H. '25 is National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist! Fewer than 1 percent of high school seniors in the nation are selected as semifinalists in this program each year.
Semifinalists are academically talented high school seniors who have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million offered next spring.
To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level. About 95 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and approximately half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
We would also like to congratulate our seniors who are Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program:
David C.
Diya K.
Margaret S.
Declan T.
Victoria T.
Elizabeth W.
This designation is for students who score in the top 2-5% on the PSAT/NMSQT. Congratulations, Spartans!
